On Saturday we had a very, very busy day. We had a reception for Calvin and Claire at my mother in law's place. It was all.after.noon. It was nice, but long! Anyway, afterwards, we went to our church's St. Nicholas Festival. It was so much fun for the kids. They got to make gingerbread houses (well, actually, graham cracker houses) and they shopped for gifts at Santa's Workshop. It was all top secret. Parents were not allowed! When the kids were done shopping, St. Nick himself had arrived so we stood in a quickly moving line to visit. Maddy couldn't wait to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Apparently it's a purple fairy. I'm afraid the purple fairy may not appear, but I did let her know that Santa may not be able to bring her the fairy, but he will do his best. Anyway, here are some pictures.
John making his graham cracker house.
Maddy instructing William on how to get his house to stand.
Maddy jumped up onto St. Nick's lap with no hesitation and proceeded to introduce her brothers.

The kiddos 'posing' for pictures with St. Nick. No one looked at the camera, unfortunately, so this was the best photo we got.
