Knights of Columbus Christmas Party

Robin is a member of the Knights of Columbus. This afternoon, they had their annual children's Christmas Party complete with Santa arriving with a big HO! HO! HO! The kids had a really nice time. The organizers had put out some craft/activity stations around the hall and a "Pin the Nose on Rudolph" game. Round that out with some yummy Christmas cookies and cupcakes, and the kids were in heaven!
Here are some pictures of the afternoon's festivities:

Kids at the coloring station. We wound up with William colouring Santa's beard pink, John colouring it blue and Maddy with a marker explosion that left ink on her sweater and hands. :S

Then we moved on to the "create a snowman" station where you needed a degree in glue and googley eyes to actually make the darn snowman. Maddy's fell apart as she tried to move him over to another table to dry. It was not the funnest station; more of a center for the mommies and daddies to display their creativity as they kids didn't have the fine motor skills really necessary for the craft--not to mention no one had the patience for it. At least not anyone who has part of my DNA!

The "Paint Your Own Ornament" station was lots of fun. Thankfully, not much paint wound up on Maddy or John. William, however, left looking like he was the painted ornament, not the lovely red ball he had. :S

On to the most favorite station of the afternoon: The decorate your own cookies station! Lots of candies and sprinkles to decorate with. Lots of fun; minimal parental aide. Wonderful!

John's face after the cookie decorating and eating extravaganza! :)

Talking to the Big Man in Red. Maddy claims to want a fairy. She's never ever mentioned it to me...would have helped in the Christmas gift department! :S

William claimed to want a "Red Spiderman!" Thankfully, he's been consistent in his requests. He's still not getting one seeing as I can't FIND any that are suitable for an almost 4 year old; but he's consistent!

John was quite hesitant to go up to Santa. But, he wanted to go. So, I led him up there and once he was up on Santa's knee, he was fine. He requested a Red Spiderman as well; but I think that was more because William asked for one only moments before.

In previous years, the Knights have asked for parents to supply a gift for Santa to hand out at the party. For some reason, they didn't have Santa give out the gifts. So, instead of opening the gifts we brought there, we took them home and had the kids open them here. They were all thrilled with their workbooks and sticker packages.
See? William did get something "Spiderman" themed this year! :D
John was thrilled with his "Buzz Lighteningyear" workbook packet. He doesn't say Lightyear; it's "Lighteninger!" thank you very much! He's a funny boy, that John!
