The title of her book was Frankenstein Makes A Sandwich and other stories you're sure to like because they're all about monsters and someof them are also about food. You like food don't you? Well, alright then.
Yes, that's really the entire title of the book. If you haven't read it, READ IT! The illustrations are great and it's so hysterical! Maddy was giggling and it's written with a cute end-rhyme at the end of each 2 lines. I think (let's see how my memory is for my university poetry class that I DESPISED!) the rhymn pattern is a/a, b/b, a/a etc. It's actually pretty tolerable for parents, too! A few of the stories are set to popular songs like Pop Goes the Weasel. Here's an exerpt that uses the It's a Small World rhyme/tune to write a very short story-poem:
The Phantom of the Opera: Can't Get "It's a Small World" Out of His Head
It's a world gone crazy, a world gone wrong,
when the phantom can't even write a song.
Sure, he's using his head,
but what's stuck there instead?
"It's a Small World" after all.
It's a small world after all.
Angry cursing fills the hall.
Now he's crawling up the wall.
It's a small, small world. (p.9)
Read this book! You and your kid will get a good chuckle!
